Bonjour Doers!

Cheryl made an interesting comment at the bottom of [this lesson](https://realspokenfrench.com/french-subtitles-off-lesson-002/#ghost-comments) and I figured you might benefit from the conversation.

I had a last minute cancellation so I also created quick Ear Training Tapes to help with her problem.

These Ear Training Tapes are special because there are only two possibilities:

- *il fait pas froid: it's not cold*
- *il fait parfois: he/it makes/does sometimes* (not a complete sentence)

To make them simpler to use, just think to yourself "it's the 'cold' one" or "it's *not* the 'cold' one".

If you need a reminder on how to use Ear Training Tapes in general, here are the instructions:

#### Quick notes

- No need to **say* the English words out loud. Just think of the meaning. The English phrase is there just for confirmation.
- Don't go through the entire audio file. The point is to practice and train your ear until it's no longer challenging, not to "finish" an audio file. No need to put yourself through that 😉

#### Read this if you're on your phone

Try holding your phone in landscape mode (as if you were watching a film) to select a random point on the timeline. I originally thought it was a glitch, but it's actually the default setting of the website. Please let me know if it's a significant issue for you and I'll work on fixing it as soon as I'm less busy crafting the lessons. **Merci pour votre patience!*

#### How many levels should I do at once?

Go through one level at a time:

1\. Start with the one that's at your Challenge Sweet Spot (feels challenging, but not so hard it's discouraging),

2\. Do that one only, every day - for however many days you need to. With practice, it'll feel easier and easier.

3\. Once it feels so easy it's no longer challenging, move on to the next level and repeat steps 1-3.

4\. Once the final level no longer feels challenging, stop doing it. A couple of days later, come back to it and see if it's still easy for you. If it is, take a longer break, maybe a week. You can keep doing that for as long as you need.

**First level** \- you have two seconds to think of the meaning:
